What to Bring

We recommend that all students bring six copies of their process paper and annotated bibliography. Why? If you qualify for the final round, you can then be sure there are enough materials for the second judging team.

Documentary contestants: We provide smart classrooms with VCR and DVD players, as well as the equipment to project an image from a computer.  We will also provide some laptop computers from which to run a DVD, in case your project does not run from our standard DVD players.  We suggest that, if possible, you bring your own laptop or other computer to run your project.    Macintosh users MUST bring your own adapter to connect your laptop to the VGA cable.

Please bring a backup copy of your documentary project, in case you encounter technical difficulties with the original.  We are not able to provide the equipment or software to make last-minutes edits to a documentary.

Exhibit and Performance contestants: If you need electricity, you must bring your own extension cords.

Free Time and Afternoon Activities

Participants in the Paper, Web Site and Exhibit categories are free after their interviews until the late afternoon. Participants in the Exhibit categories must return to the Auraria Event Center to dismantle their exhibits between 4:00 and 4:30. We encourage all participants to attend the awards ceremony, which starts at 5:00 p.m.

We suggest that you stop by the information table for information on where to eat and activities to enjoy on the Auraria campus and in downtown Denver during your free time.
