*Final Round Information: There are no interviews during the final round in any category. We will post final round qualifiers for the Performance and Documentary categories only, because students participating in these categories must attend the final round. Following the National History Day contest model, we will not post final round qualifiers in the Exhibit, Web Site and Paper categories. Finalists and winners for all categories will be announced at the awards ceremony.

When Do I Check In?

Exhibits: Participants in the Exhibit category must check in between 7:30 and 8:15 a.m. All exhibits must be ready for judging by 8:45 a.m. and must remain standing until 4:00 p.m. Please refer to the program for your interview time; the complete contest program listing interview times and locations will be available on our web site after April 23..

Performances and Documentaries: Participants in these categories must check in at least 45 minutes prior to their scheduled presentation, or by 10:00 at the latest. The complete contest program listing competition times and locations will be available on our web site after April 23.

Papers and Web Sites: Participants in these categories must check in at least 45 minutes prior to their scheduled interview, or by 10:00 at the latest. The complete contest program listing interview times and locations will be available on our web site after April 23.

What to Bring

We recommend that all students bring six copies of their process paper and annotated bibliography. Why? If you qualify for the final round, you can then be sure there are enough materials for the second judging team.

Documentary contestants: Please bring a backup copy of your project, in case you encounter technical difficulties with the original. Please note that we provide a smart classroom with DVD player, VCR and slide projector only. Documentary contestants must bring their own laptop or other computer and the cables necessary to connect to a smart room, slide carousel, or other devices. (Macintosh users must bring their own adapter to connect their laptop to the VGA cable.)
Exhibit and Performance contestants: If you need electricity, you must bring your own extension cords.
Web Site contestants: You should not need to bring back-up copies of your entry as the judges will bring the copies they received

Free Time and Afternoon Activities

Participants in the Paper, Web Site and Exhibit categories are free after their interviews until the late afternoon. Participants in the Exhibit categories must return to the Auraria Event Center to dismantle their exhibits between 4:00 and 4:30. We encourage all participants to attend the awards ceremony, which starts at 5:00 p.m. in the Tivoli Student Union Turnhalle.

We suggest that you stop by the information table in the Tivoli Student Union Tavern for information on where to eat and activities to enjoy on the Auraria campus and in downtown Denver during your free time.
