Special Awards
Colorado History Day is proud to partner with the following individuals and organizations to offer the following special awards for 2011:
- The Colorado Geographic Alliance will offer one junior award and one senior award for the Best Use of Geography in a History Day Project. This award is available to entries in all categories. - The Department of History at UC-Denver will offer one junior award and one senior award for the Best Use of Primary Sources in a Historical Paper. This award is available to entries in the Paper category only. The Department of History is the host of the Colorado History Day program.
- The Colorado Historical Society will sponsor one junior and one senior award for the Best Entry in Colorado History. This award is available to entries in all categories. For more information on the Colorado Historical Society, please visit their web site at http://www.coloradohistory.org/
-Mizel Arts and Cultural center will sponsor one junior and one senior award for the Best Project Related to Jewish History. This award is available to entries in all categories.
- The Monaco South Optimists Club will sponsor one award for the Best Entry from the San Luis Valley . This award is available to student participants from the San Luis Valley.
Nomination for Special Awards
Students may self-nominate their entries for two special awards for the 2011 contest as part of their registration process.
Note: For entries in the Documentary category only, if you wish to be considered for a special award, we ask that you submit a copy of your documentary ahead of time so the special awards judges can review it before the contest. Please send a copy of your documentary to the state History Day office by Friday, April 22.
