Notes:
While the training on April 21 is primarily aimed at paper and web site judges, and the training on April 25 is primarily aimed at judging exhibits, performances and documentaries, we still encourage you to attend a judge training session even if you are not available for the session that matches your judging assignment. Much of the information that we discuss applies no matter what the category is, and we will go over information specific to the category you will judge.
We strongly encourage all first-time judges to attend a training session .Returning judges are welcome as well, and you can share your experiences with the new judges
If you are not able to attend a judge training session, please be sure to review the judging instructions for your category provided by National History Day.
- Paper and Web Site judges, you will receive these instructions in your packets along with the papers or web sites that you are judging
- Performance, Exhibit and Documentary judges, you will receive these instructions in your confirmation packet
The students have prepared their projects with the rules in mind, and they want to be evaluated based on these rules. If you would like to view the judging instructions ahead of time, click here to be directed to a screen where the instructions are available.
Please do let us know if you plan to attend either of the judge training sessions so we know how much food to plan for! Click here for contact information for the state History Day office.
REMEMBER:
You will be the most important person the student will meet at the competition! Your fairness and encouragement may be the reason students decide to participate in Colorado History Day again next year.
